I bought an existing practice, knew where I wanted to go and didn't want to waste any time getting there. Yet there I was, a few months into it, just covering my expenses, but not having the experience or answers to take it to the next level. My hours were long because I was still working part time as an associate, and with a baby on the way I wanted to spend more time with my family.

The best part of the story is that I'm now able to devote more time to studying the new things I want to learn, traveling, and spending time with my wife and my very young kids.

 

I can't think what would have happened if I hadn't responded to that promotional mailing from Vanguard. But I'm very glad I did, or I might still be stuck, looking for answers and trying to figure things out on my own.
